Health & Safety at Clearway

At Clearway, the health and wellbeing of our employees, stakeholders, and the communities we serve is a top priority, and this key value is integrated throughout the organization.

In 2025 we achieved our strongest safety performance on record for a second year in a row, with industry-leading rates of zero lost time injuries in construction and only one lost time injury in operations, ensuring that our employees "go home the same way they came in."

Our Management Approach

Our Health and Safety Program, guided by our comprehensive Health and Safety Policy and Safety Management System, is aligned with recognized industry standards for Environmental, Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001 and 14001) and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle of continuous improvement.

We focus on risk assessment, training, and continuous improvement, with active involvement from top management, clear objectives, and strong communication and controls. Through regular monitoring, internal audits, and the PDCA cycle, we ensure ongoing enhancement and compliance, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.

Our Health and Safety Program provides clear direction on how we plan and organize ourselves as a business to ensure environmental, health and safety risks are identified, evaluated, and controlled to drive continuous improvement.

Our commitment to protecting people and the environment is expressed in our set of core values:

Prioritize Safety

In the field and in the office, always putting the well-being of our people, our neighbors, and our environment first.

Serve Our Communities

By prioritizing community needs in our decision-making, we create lasting positive impact beyond providing clean power.

Support Our People

Seeking opportunities to collaborate, looking to get the most out of everyone around us, celebrating successes and sharing setbacks, and accomplishing all the more for it.

Act With Integrity

Doing what’s right in our work, saying what’s right with our words.

Be Accountable

Owning our responsibilities and the outcomes, facing our challenges, seeking help when needed to meet them, and simply finding ways to get things done.

Improve Continuously

Recognizing there’s no such thing as perfect in the real world, but embracing opportunities to learn and change, always making progress toward being a better company.

Invest Resources Wisely

Through thoughtful planning and responsible stewardship, we ensure sustainable growth while delivering clean energy solutions that create long-term value for our stakeholders and the planet.

Collaborate Intentionally

Seeking opportunities to collaborate, bringing out the best from everyone around us, celebrating success and sharing setbacks.

Safety Performance

Annual safety performance is a critical measure of an organization’s commitment to protecting its workforce. In 2025 Clearway continued to focus on building safety capacity, improving our ability to identify high-energy and high-consequence risks, implementing robust controls, and empowering employees at all levels to actively participate in safety initiatives.

Vimocity - WorkReady Certification

In 2025 we began offering the Vimocity WorkReady Certification to Clearway employees. The certification provides employees with practical tools to improve workforce readiness, reduce injury risk, and foster a strong culture of safety. The program features a flexible training workshop offered in person or virtually, official certification, and ongoing access to the Vimocity Community for continued learning and peer support.

Mental Health Resources at Clearway

We offer team members many tools to support mental health and well-being, primarily through our Human Resources department, although our Safety department offers Mental Health First Aid training in our corporate offices as well as at project sites.

Anyone can be trained to provide Mental Health First Aid and make their community or organization healthier, happier, and safer for all. Our training takes the fear and hesitation out of talking about mental health and gives people tools to start these conversations so more people can get stigma-free support. Mental Health First Aid providers are a vital link between those facing a mental health or substance use challenge and the help they need.

Emergency Response Preparedness

In 2025 we formalized Clearway’s Emergency Response plan, which establishes uniform preparation and response guidelines for a wide range of emergency situations. The plan’s purpose is to ensure that each facility develops procedures to address emergencies promptly with the goal of minimizing risk to personnel and property, as well as communicating with stakeholders in a manner that builds trust and confidence while providing accurate information.

2025 Safety Culture Survey

Each year we conduct a safety culture survey to assess employees’ safety perceptions across the company. These surveys evaluate three critical categories and associated values that directly impact organizational safety:

“Leadership” assesses:

  • Commitment to ensuring safety is a core value;
  • Accountability for holding individuals responsible for safety outcomes; and
  • Priorities in terms of aligning decision-making with safety objectives.

“People” focuses on:

  • Competency and ensuring employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills;
  • Communication that fosters clear, timely, and effective information exchange; and
  • Supportive resources that provide tools and assistance to uphold safety standards.

“Processes” reviews:

  • Hazard awareness, ensuring risks are recognized, communicated, and mitigated; and
  • Reporting and investigation, encouraging no-blame reporting of incidents and thorough analysis to identify corrective actions that prevent recurrence.

Our 2025 culture rating remained stable at 81%, which places Clearway in the 1st quartile when benchmarked against industry peers.
