John Martinez
SVP, Operations
John brings over 25 years of experience in operations leadership. Previously, John was at Pattern Energy for 5 years as Vice President of Global Operations, where he had global oversight for operations and maintenance across Pattern’s fleet of renewable assets in Latin America, North America, and Japan. Prior to that, John spent 7 years at Iberdrola in the roles of Director of Field Operations, managing Iberdrola’s renewable assets, and as Managing Director of Operations and Controls Engineering. Earlier in his career, John spent 15 years with Air Products progressing through various leadership roles.
John earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix and completed the Executive Management Program at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having spent 6 years in Naval Nuclear Engineering and serving aboard the USS Arkansas nuclear-propelled guided-missile cruiser.
John Martinez is the Senior Vice President of Operations of Clearway Energy Group, where he leads the company’s wind, solar, energy storage operations.
