Clearway-funded program will award $20,000 to local nonprofit organizations this fall

Keyser, WV– The US Wind Force Foundation, Inc. announced today that it is accepting applications for the 2026 grant cycle of the Pinnacle Community Benefit Fund. Funded by Clearway Energy Group (“Clearway”), which owns and operates Pinnacle Wind, the program will award $20,000 to eligible nonprofit organizations serving communities near the 54-megawatt wind farm in Keyser, West Virginia.

The Pinnacle Community Benefit Fund was established in 2012 to provide locally controlled financial resources for “brick and mortar” community projects. Clearway initially contributed $60,000 to the fund and has committed to donating $20,000 annually for the life of the project.

Clearway also operates Black Rock Wind in Grant and Mineral counties and launched an additional Community Benefit Fund for Black Rock in 2022. To date, the Pinnacle and Black Rock Community Benefit Funds have together awarded more than $660[SO1.1],000 to local projects supporting education, historical preservation, recreation, emergency services and other community initiatives.

The US Wind Force Foundation, which manages the benefit fund, requires all grant applications to be postmarked no later than Saturday, September 26, 2026.

“We are honored to support organizations that provide important services and improve the quality of life in Mineral County,” said Jim Cookman, President of the US Wind Force Foundation and a partner at Laurel Renewable Partners, the developer partner of the Pinnacle Wind Farm. “We appreciate the community’s continued engagement and Clearway’s longstanding commitment to the region.”

Grant applications will be reviewed by an Allocation Committee composed of residents, landowners, and business leaders from Mineral County. “I look forward to reviewing the applications submitted with my fellow committee members,” said Cindy Pyles, Chair of the Pinnacle Community Benefit Fund Allocation Committee. “We work every year to distribute $20,000 to as many projects and organizations as possible that are solving problems and making positive change in our community.”
