Chris Barker
VP, Transmission & Grid Integration
In this role, he oversees generation interconnection, transmission planning, and large-load integration supporting Clearway’s nationwide development portfolio. Chris brings over 20 years of experience developing generation and infrastructure projects across nearly every U.S. power market. Prior to joining Clearway Energy, Chris had a productive career helping to establish an emerging solar industry working at PowerLight, SunPower and DNV where he led their electrical and power system engineering teams. Over the past 12 years, his work at NRG and Clearway spans both project execution and regulatory strategy, and he has been actively engaged in shaping interconnection and transmission policy issues before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), including rulemakings that led to Orders 2023 and 1920.
Chris holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and has been a registered Professional Engineer in California since 2007.
