Steve Ryder is an Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer for Clearway Energy Group, where he leads the corporate finance and capital market functions for the organization. Including assets held through its affiliates, Clearway owns and operates over 8 GW in generation assets across 26 states, including one of the nation’s largest renewable energy fleets with over 6.9 GW in operating solar, wind, and energy storage. Clearway is also one of the country’s largest developers of clean energy projects, and today is advancing a nationwide pipeline of 30 GW.

Prior to Clearway, Steve was the Chief Financial Officer for Invenergy LLC, a Chicago-based developer, owner, and operator of clean energy projects. Over his 12 years at Invenergy, Steve oversaw a broad range of financial and commercial functions including structured finance, treasury, portfolio finance, asset management, tax, accounting, and risk management. Over this period, Steve was the lead transactor for numerous corporate and project financing debt and equity transactions in North America and Europe. Prior to Invenergy, Mr. Ryder served for more than 15 years in several finance and technical capacities at GE Energy Financial Services (GE Capital), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and AT&T, including assignments in Europe and Asia. 

Steve earned a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering, magna cum laude, from Tufts University. He also earned the designation of a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
