Jay Stanford is the Vice President of Accounting at Clearway Energy Group. Including assets held through its affiliates, Clearway owns and operates over 8 GW in generation assets across 26 states, including one of the nation’s largest renewable energy fleets with over 6.9 GW in operating solar, wind, and energy storage. Clearway is also one of the country’s largest developers of clean energy projects, and today is advancing a nationwide pipeline of 30 GW.
Prior to Clearway, Jay, served as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of USD Partners GP LLC where he was responsible for overseeing the financial accounting, SEC reporting, taxation, and cash management functions in support of USD Group LLC and USD Partners LP. Jay held leadership roles with Enbridge Energy Company, Inc., the general partner of Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P., formerly a master limited partnership headquartered in Houston, Texas, with responsibility for financial accounting and reporting, technical accounting, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, among other duties. Jay has also held similar roles with responsibility for financial accounting and reporting activities with other public and private companies and began his career with KPMG LLP where he provided assurance and advisory services to clients in several industries.
Jay is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Global Management Accountant and a two-time graduate of Texas Tech University where he received BBAs in Finance and Accounting. Additionally, Jay also earned a Master of Taxation degree from the Graduate Tax Program of the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
